Ms. Lewalski is an engineering specialist in the area of transportation systems and equipment design, development, and management. Her professional experience with both engineering and managerial-level assignments stretches over thirty years in the USA, Canada and Poland. For over nine years Ms. Lewalski was the manager of a major aeronautical laboratory. In the area of mass transit systems and equipment, Ms. Lewalski has worked in the past on such programs as the design and development of subway cars for MBTA in Boston, Bi-Level commuter cars for Toronto, and Intermediate Capacity Transit System vehicles for Toronto, Vancouver and Detroit. Since August 1986, Ms. Lewalski has owned and operated a Nevada mass transit systems end equipment consulting firm, Transit Performance Engineering. Ms. Lewalski's firm has been actively involved in the design improvement program of the San Francisco MUNI LRVs and the analysis of LRV component modification and replacement needs. Since 1988, Ms. Lewalski has been involved in subway car procurement for SCRTD, Los Angeles, Bi- Level commuter car procurement for LIRR, Long Island, New York, LRV procurement for the Bi-State Development Agency in Saint Louis, and specification writing for new LRV's for MUNI, San Francisco. Ms. Lewalski also provides QC services for the latter. Other contracts for Transit Performance Engineering include "Transit Need Assessment in Non-urban Nevada" and "Engineering Assistance in the Purchase of Commuter Cars for Northern Indiana." The latest contracts include quality control services for the procurement of LRV cars (RT Sacramento), stainless steel commuter cars for NICTD/South Bend, and professional services for repairing damaged cars for NICTD. |
