Summary:
Mr. Lewalski is a transportation systems and equipment development engineer with 35 years experience in Europe, Canada, and the USA. His involvement in mass transit equipment development programs includes, among other projects, the design of H-4 subway cars (Toronto) for modularized assembly (Project Engineer), design of GO30-2 commuter rail coaches for Toronto for modularized assembly (Project Engineer), design of bi-level commuter rail coaches for Toronto (Project Engineer), design of
bi-level lounge cafe main line coaches for AMTRAK (Chief Designer), design of Intermediate Capacity Transit System Vehicles for Toronto, Vancouver and Detroit (Director of Vehicle Engineering). In 1980-81 Mr. Lewalski was Head Mechanical Engineer with UTDC R&D. As a consultant and the owner and operator of a Nevada firm, D&D Engineering, Mr. Lewalski has provided services to such projects as the procurement of subway vehicles for Los Angeles, bi-level cars for Long Island Rail Road, New York, electric commuter cars for South Shore in Chicago, and LRVs for Saint Louis and San Francisco. Consulting assignments have included the audit of manufacturing facilities in Europe and Japan. In 1992, as Head of Mission for the United Nations Development Program, Mr. Lewalski reviewed the development of the Center for Electric Transportation in India. Recent projects include the development of a prototype LRV ramp for people with impaired mobility and a low-floor LRV study - both for Sacramento Regional Transit. Other assignments include Project Management Oversight for Fluor Daniel and LA Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and the review and approval of a Management and Engineering Transportation System Integration Testing for MTA.
Professional
Affiliations:
Licensed Professional Engineer in Nevada and California, and in Ontario, Canada. The Association of Professional Engineers of the Province of Ontario granted Mr. Lewalski the designation of Specialist in the Transportation Technology Class; one of only three engineers so honored.

Member, Society of Automotive Engineers
Publications: Over 30 technical publications in various technical periodicals. In 1988, Mr. Lewalski published the book "Product Esthetics."
